Animal Cell Tour is an immersive Minecraft: Education Edition experience designed for senior biology students — one of EduElfie's first ventures into VCE-level content, and the beginning of a broader library of senior science worlds.
The Experience
Students explore a custom-built interpretation of an animal cell, constructed to scale in Minecraft. Rather than passively reading about cell organelles, students move through the cell environment, interacting with in-game experts stationed at each organelle to gather information and complete a revision booklet.
The result is a blended learning experience that students genuinely enjoy — and that makes abstract biological structures feel tangible and memorable.
Who Is It For?
Originally created for and used with VCE Year 12 Biology students as a revision and reinforcement tool. It's particularly effective as a pre-exam revision activity or as an introduction to cell structure earlier in the senior biology curriculum.
